I got my Canon 200 2.8 a couple of weeks back and have been getting a few shots in when possible. I sold my 24-105L to fund my change-over. I am really sure I made the right choice. The clarity and most of all the richness of colour are so much better than the 24-105. Put this together with vastly better low light performance and much improved focusing speed I am happy to loose the zoom and IS features. This lens is a great match to my 85 1.8. Again, I agonised over this whole deal as I am going well back in technology but the benefits are now so obvious - I wish I had made this choice years ago.

The kenko 1.4 works well with the lens but I am less sure on the extension tubes - need some more experimentation but at this stage I don't see the benefit. This lens is crossing pver for some of the macro shots I would normally use my 100 2.8 macro for.

To help me I drew up some mods and got a Gimbal made up for for my tripod. Again, this has changed my ideas on tripods. This is now a delight to use. I am developing a polypropylene frame to replace the heavy (but stable) frame to keep the weight down for when I travel.

Is that the 75-200 2.8?

No - this is the 200 2.8 prime. I am a prime convert.
