There are several things you can personalise in the the settings by clicking on the [User Preferences] link below, for example email notification when someone replies to your post or sends you a Private Message.  Please also note that sometimes there are two General Forum categories listed below - it doesn't matter which one you use as it's just a glitch in the system that we can't resolve.

That gadget (the GigaTube) lists for $189 USD. For that price, I would buy an iPod Touch and then spend just $20 on software for it that will control a Nikon or Canon DSLR.

  • Remotely fire your Canon EOS or Nikon DSLR
  • Remotely control the camera settings like shutter-speed, aperture, white-balance and more
  • View images shot on the camera from your iPhone or iPod touch
  • Look through your camera's viewfinder remotely


After investigating this product, I am led to believe that the camera has to be tethered to a PC / Laptop via a USB cable in order to work.

very cool item. someday I expect Nikon and Canon to offer such things for all their DSLR's.

Aputure, the same company that makes the Gigtube device that Wyndham originally posted has released a new WIRELESS version. The Gigtube Wireless Digital Viewfinder  List price: $259 USD

Another company, Pro-View has released a competing WIRELESS device call the Pro-View Wireless Remote Live View. List Price: $395 USD
